Business Description

One of the leading private sector steel company with an annual crude steel production capacity of over 29 MTPA. It is world’s second most geographically diversified steel producer with operations in 26 countries and commercial presence in 50 countries. It is one of the top ten global steel companies in the world spread across 5 continents.

Business Challenge

The fastest growing steel producer has one of the largest distributed workforce, spread over multiple geographies. With a launch of one of its mega green field integrated steel plant, they were looking to fill close to 400 profiles. Approximately, 8528 applicants registered with the client and their major challenge was to screen the top 20% out of the 8528 applications for the interview using a standardized and valid hiring process, within a short span of 15 days.

Solution:

Wheebox designed standardized Hiring process for the client and screened 8528 applicants across various districts of a State. We proposed the following methods to increase hiring efficiency :

  • Pre-screening Test used Domain / Functional Test were created for the following streams – Mechanical, Metallurgy, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation and Civil.
  • Cognitive Test – Numerical, Verbal, Logical Reasoning and Data interpretation

Result:

Wheebox alleviated the workload of the company enabling them to conduct hassle free screening of the candidates and at the same time providing the organization an opportunity to successfully achieve minimal expenditure for a time consuming process.The major benefits for the organization is listed below:

1. 8528 candidates successfully screened using standardized Hiring assessment, across 4 districts, 10 venues in remote locations within a short span of 15 days
