About the Global Employability Test
The Global Employability Test is an assessment
designed to evaluate and enhance employability skills like
cognitive ability, English proficiency, domain knowledge,
and behavioral traits. It provides a global benchmark for
workplace readiness, helping students, professionals, and
employers identify skill gaps and strengths. Participants
receive detailed insights to improve their career prospects,
while institutions and companies use the data for
recruitment and training.
Objective
The Global Employability Test by Wheebox ETS
evaluates the employability skills of individuals and
provides actionable insights to improve their readiness for
the workforce. The test focuses on measuring critical
competencies like cognitive abilities, English communication
skills, domain-specific knowledge, and behavioral traits
essential for workplace success.
Key Dimensions Assessed
English Proficiency
The test evaluates English proficiency in writing, speaking,
reading, and listening. Writing tasks use audio prompts and
free-text input (5 minutes per question), speaking tasks use
video prompts to assess fluency and pronunciation (2
minutes), and reading tasks use multiple-choice questions to
test comprehension and vocabulary (3 minutes). This structure
ensures a thorough assessment of language skills.
Numerical and Data Interpretation Skills
The test evaluates numerical and data interpretation skills
through multiple-choice questions (MCQs) across key areas.
Basic Arithmetic Operations, Percentage Calculations, Data
Interpretation and Statistics, and Average Calculations are
some of the areas evaluated.
Critical Thinking and Problems Solving
This section gauges candidates' ability to think critically,
analyze information, and solve problems effectively within a
constrained time frame. By presenting a series of scenarios
and arguments, candidates are required to apply logical
reasoning and draw well-supported conclusions, reflecting
their capacity for critical thinking and sound
decision-making.
Digital and Computing Skills
The test evaluates digital and computing skills in four key
areas: Common Applications (MS Excel, Word), assessing
proficiency in basic functions like formatting and data entry
; Email Management, testing email composition, organization,
and features ; Internet and Web Browsing, focusing on web
navigation and tab management; and Online Safety and Security,
evaluating knowledge of online safety practices, password
management, and phishing prevention . The test covers
essential skills required for effective digital communication
and online safety.
Behavioural Skills
This section of the assessment evaluates essential behavioral
or soft skills needed for professional success. Learning
Agility is assessed through situational judgment test (SJT)
scenarios, Psychometric Adaptability evaluates flexibility,
stress management, and resilience, while Work Ethic measures
punctuality, responsibility, accountability, and professional
development.
Cognitive Skills
This section assesses various cognitive skills essential for
professional tasks. Memory is tested through a card task,
Attention is evaluated with a "spot the difference" task,
Processing Speed involves a "hit the target" task, and Typing
Test measures typing speed and accuracy, assessing how
quickly and accurately candidates can type a passage within 5
minutes, often used for roles requiring extensive typing.
